You are the one fixed point of brightness
In the fluid pall of darkness around me;
But not the “romantic” full moon,
For you have neither the craters nor the blemishes,
And the light you give is borrowed not!
You are not the flame of a solitary candle in the distance,
For you dance when you please and
Pierce me with your constant glare only when you wish.
No breeze can sway you,
No storm can blow you out,
Neither do you need wax and wick to cling on to!
Who you are, I cannot define accurately.
But this I know surely:
You are
Who I need you to be
When I need you to be it
Giving me What I need at the moment
Exactly How I need it to be handed to me
Showing me precisely Why I needed it at all.
